I’m going to be starting between 1-2 WordPress sites soon. None will be getting particularly high traffic to start. So I’m just looking for some basic WordPress hosting where I can grab a good deal for 2-3 years and then upgrade when needed.
A2 offers some 36-month deals. Are they decent?
Siteground only seems to offer 12 months to start, before higher renewal rates kick in. I’m still considering them since I’m familiar with their dashboard.
Any other suggestions are great, too. I know to avoid EIG at least.
I previously used A2 and SG. To be honest, SG surpasses A2 by far. They offer excellent support, and their server performance is exceptional. However, I switched to Asp Hostportal because SG’s renewal price became three times higher, which was unaffordable for me.
I employed A2 for a project and later migrated my projects to Digital Ocean when prepared. A2 promptly refunded unused time without any queries. I found their support chat helpful during the few interactions I had. The main issue arose with their domain name management interface when I attempted to transfer the a.io domain. However, my support request was swiftly escalated, and the matter was resolved satisfactorily.
Siteground is fantastic and definitely worth the investment. They provide discounts during renewal (they did for me, at least). What makes it valuable? Installing WordPress is incredibly easy, and managing multiple sites under one account is seamless. Their WordPress migration plugin simplifies site transfers, and their WordPress optimization plugin is the most effective I’ve come across.
Check out Hustly WordPress Hosting. Their basic package supports up to three WordPress websites. I’ve conducted A/B tests comparing a standard WordPress setup on Hustly versus SiteGround, and Hustly slightly outperforms SiteGround, possibly due to less crowded servers. They guarantee transparent pricing without hidden fees or special discount periods; you pay for what you see. In most cases, their pricing is also more affordable. Hustly is a small Australian company, not owned by EIG (Endurance International Group). They provide a comparison page for their plans against SiteGround and other providers. Personally, I would recommend avoiding A2 Hosting despite their competitive prices, as my past experience with their service has been less than satisfactory.
