Hello everyone,

There’s a possibility that .io domains might be phased out if the British Indian Ocean Territory gets restructured. Also, unless your agency is really AI-focused, .ai might not be ideal either. These are country-code domains, and they can be a bit unstable.
.io could be a bit risky with the territory it belongs to possibly changing status. Existing domains might be okay for a while, but new ones might face restrictions soon. Country-based domains like .io and .ai have limited oversight, and there’s a chance you might run into issues with these.
If I’m being real, I’d suggest neither and go with a .com. Many people will still type .com even if they know it’s a different domain, and they might search your name on Google anyway. A .com would probably be less hassle and look more professional.
I’d say neither, just go with a regular one.
Have you thought about .agency or .net? I’m not a big fan of either .ai or .io.
If possible, go with a .com or .agency. Both .ai and .io are ccTLDs and might have stability issues, especially .io.
Just go with .com. It’s what most people expect.

I tried for a .com, but the price was close to 7k, so I picked up a .co and .agency for way less. I’ll A/B test them to see what works.
I like .dev and other real-world domains like .design, .studio, or .art. They can be good alternatives.
Out of the two, I’d lean toward .io, but there’s a risk it might go away or have issues. I’d really suggest going for a .com for client trust.
.ai has that tech vibe, while .io is versatile and trendy. If you’re looking to give off an innovative feel, .ai could work; otherwise, .io might appeal to a broader audience.
Thanks everyone! I ended up going with a .agency domain since it fits the business type. Fingers crossed it works out.
I heard .io might not be around for long.

What do you mean by that?

The area associated with .io is set to change ownership, and the ICANN rules suggest the domain could be shut down after five years. But nothing’s confirmed yet.
If your agency might use Artificial Intelligence, maybe go with .ai.
I’d love to know more about your content agency. Reach out if you want to chat!
