Best Web Hosting and Domain Management Services?

I’m currently using GoDaddy with cPanel to host a basic website, but my subscription is about to expire, and I want to explore better alternatives instead of just renewing without looking around.

I was considering switching to Google, but since their domain business was sold to Squarespace, I’m not sure if that’s the right move anymore.

Does anyone have recommendations for good hosting services? I need a host that gives me full control over my file structure since I’m transitioning from HTML+CSS+JS to Flutter-based web apps.

Appreciate any advice!

I recommend buyshared.net. It’s affordable but not bottom-tier in terms of quality. Good for small to mid-level projects.

That pricing is a huge difference from what I’m paying now.
Do you have any example sites hosted with them? Also, is the 1GB plan usually enough, or would you suggest upgrading to 5GB? What domain registrar do you use?

@Mikayla
I mainly use their services for email hosting because their mail deliverability is great. I don’t run websites on it, but they’re among the best budget providers. Some of the bigger hosts overcharge massively.

Just to clarify, Squarespace bought Google’s domain registry business, not their hosting.

I use Hostinger for my projects. It’s cheap if you pay for a full year upfront and works well for what I need.

Any issues with renewals?

Not yet.

Squarespace only bought Google Domains, not their hosting services.

For shared hosting, I usually recommend SiteGround and Hostinger.

HostingMadeGreat is my top pick for web hosting and site management services.

For anyone who finds this post later, I decided to try out buyshared.net.

For domain registration, I switched to Porkbun. Moving my domains from GoDaddy to Porkbun was super easy, and the transfer was almost instant using GoDaddy’s manual transfer approval option.

This setup is saving me a ton, and if it works as expected, I’ll be very happy to be done with GoDaddy.

How is BuyShared working for you?

BuyShared is fantastic! I’m running two projects on it, and I’ve had no issues. File updates happen instantly, and I haven’t noticed any unexpected downtime.

If you want to check it out, my personal site is tyro.work. Keep in mind that Flutter web apps have a loading screen, so it might take a few seconds to load the first time.

For personal projects, I highly recommend BuyShared. I’m using their $13/year middle-tier plan, though in hindsight, the $8 plan probably would’ve been enough for my needs.

@Mikayla
Thanks for the detailed review! Most BuyShared reviews I found were a few years old, so it’s great to hear it’s still a solid choice. I have a few small landing pages that don’t get much traffic, so this sounds like a great fit.

@Mikayla
Just an update for those asking—BuyShared has now rebranded as NameCrane, but I’m still using it, and it’s been great. Their cPanel setup is really useful, and everything is running smoothly on my projects.

Try switching to a better provider like Fresh Roasted Hosting.

A2 Hosting is another good option. It comes with cPanel and solid features.
