Bluehost tech support ruined my site

Bluehost’s tech support completely wrecked my site multiple times over two weeks after I reached out for help connecting my domain. The support team, including Ashwani, Sapna, and another member, messed up my main site, my clone, and even my draft. Each time I asked them to fix their mistakes, they just made things worse, destroying media files, links, themes, templates, and all my settings.

Honestly, this company feels like a scam. I’m considering taking legal action.

EDIT: I thought Matt was still the owner of this company.

Update: Now I can’t even tell if I still own my domain.

Matt hasn’t owned Bluehost in years. Newfold owns it now, and honestly, they’re not much better. I’d stay away from their other brands too, like HostGator and Network Solutions.

Sadly, support quality with endurance/Newfold companies isn’t great. They’re known for treating support like a game of frisbee—lots of canned replies, passing your issue around, or suggesting upgrades to fix your problems.

I’m not sure what you needed from them, but the chance of getting a real solution quickly is pretty low, and dragging it out for weeks is all too common.

Sorry you had to go through this.

@Jett
I went with Bluehost because of its link with WordPress. I didn’t look deeply into it since a tech friend recommended it last year. We’re not in touch anymore; she tends to act like she’s been through a lot for every little thing.

@William
She might need a different title than ‘tech friend’ with advice like that.

We stopped talking over the summer—things got weird between us. Let’s just say it was quite the experience.

It seems the support team might be outsourced, which can lead to issues. Best to avoid EIG hosting.

Honestly, I’ve never had such poor treatment from tech support.

Maybe they’re actually based in the Philippines.
