Do NOT use Godaddy. Period.
Consider migrating to a new host. Many hosting providers offer free migration services when you purchase a hosting plan.
Personally, I prefer to handle the migration of files, databases, emails, and logs myself. Typically, a host will perform a basic copy-paste of the WHM, cPanel, or whatever control panel is used on the old server to the new one. By doing it myself, I can ensure a cleaner and more organized system on the new server.
This approach makes sense for GoDaddy. For a large company, it’s more efficient to maintain a single platform that’s easier to manage at scale. Virtual private servers (VPS) and cloud services can be migrated to new hardware more easily, and dedicated servers don’t play a major role in their business model.
It doesn’t make sense.
VPS is VPS and a dedicated server is a dedicated server.
