How Can I Keep Staging Sites Safe from Malware if Live Sites Get Infected?

I’m managing around 20 small WordPress sites, all hosted under a single account. My concern is about security, especially when it comes to keeping my staging sites safe from malware if any of the live sites get infected.

Is there a way to set up a firewall between sites within the same account? Or would it be better to have staging sites in one account and the live sites in another? Ideally, I’d want an easy and quick way to publish changes from staging to live, but I’m worried about cross-contamination if malware hits the live sites.

Any advice on the best practices for this situation? How do you guys keep your staging environments secure, especially when working with multiple sites on a shared account?
