I’ve read that websites created on WIX have a slimmer chance of ranking higher on SEO platforms mainly because it is based on JavaScript and offers fewer SEO optimization controls. I need to know this before deciding where to create a website for my clothing brand, which I am trying to establish with limited funds. What are the pros and cons of hosting my own website versus using a CRM platform like WIX?

It is alright. It is okay unless you have long-term aspirations to make this a long-term business.
It is not very versatile and a little pricey. However, it is okay to experiment and learn.
However, what if your objective is to create a long-lasting, scalable campaign? Examine your choices.

I created two Wix Websites for SEO clients 1 year ago, and both began ranking well within a few months. They have remained on the first page ever since. However, because this is a house cleaning firm and a personal trainer (local SEO), competition was minimal.
Wix is not the ideal choice for speed, but the sites can still perform adequately.

I agree, don’t use Wix. It’s really for people who want a simple, cheap solution and think building a website is like using Word. Wix targets this market, offering easy drag-and-drop tools and then upselling extra features with high monthly fees. For web developers, Wix is frustrating because it’s very limited.
Hosting elsewhere, like with WordPress, gives you much more control and a rich ecosystem of tools and plugins.

For the individuals, small organizations and anybody else wishing to design a visually stunning website without knowing how to code, Wix is a great option. It is especially appropriate for portfolios, blogs, small e-commerce sites, and service-oriented enterprises. But other systems, like WordPress, could be better appropriate for customers that need deep customization and sophisticated SEO features or for large-scale websites.
My rule is always simple, avoid over-advertised websites.
Wix is definitely not reliable for the kind of website that you want to create.
I would have vouched for Wix, if you needed a website that displays your businesses name, address, phone, about page, contact form, and nothing else.
