Should I move from Bluehost to my new web designer for hosting?

I have been with Bluehost for years, but their customer service has become quite frustrating.

The web designer I hired for a site update also offers hosting services. I’m considering switching from Bluehost but am unsure if it’s a good move.

Here’s what they offer:

$75/month Option:

  • Optimized server for fast-loading
  • SSL certificate for secure browsing
  • Daily website backups
  • WordPress caching
  • Core WordPress and plugin updates
  • Daily website monitoring and IP blocking
  • Includes all licensing and plugin updates
  • Current Sitelock $70/month may overlap

$175/month Option:

  • All features of the $75 plan
  • Includes 1 hour of monthly support for updates (non-rollover)

Is it worth switching from a large provider to this new option?

Never use your web developer for hosting. If the relationship fails, all is lost.

Give them the cPanel login and host under a reputable web host under your name.

Website locks are fake. A decent server will charge about $10 per month for hosting a medium-sized website, which includes SSL and backups.

Reward your developer hourly.
