Hey everyone… I’ve been using Vultr paired with the free version of Plesk for a bit now. Got around 6 servers hosting about 15 websites, but with Plesk’s price hike, I’m thinking it’s time to switch things up. Honestly, it feels silly to fork out cash monthly for Plesk when most of these sites are just static and don’t bring in any income.
I’ve been happy with Vultr, but I’m not exactly a tech genius, so I’m lost on what other OS platforms might be out there. CPanel’s user-friendly, sure, but it’s pricey too. For now, I’ll likely keep my WooCommerce sites on Vultr, but I need a cheaper alternative for everything else. Last time I really looked into hosting, I was using SiteGround and A2, which were solid back then, but who knows now? Any suggestions or insights?
I moved from Plesk when prices got out of hand and switched to CyberPanel—totally free and works like a charm, especially for static sites. Took a bit of getting used to, but it’s been worth it.
Have you tried DirectAdmin? It’s way cheaper than Plesk or cPanel, and it’s pretty straightforward once you get the hang of it. I’ve been using it on a few of my Vultr servers—works great, and no crazy costs too.
I’m seconding CyberPanel . I’m running it on a few Linode servers. Perfect for static sites, and it’s a lot easier to manage than I expected. Plus, you can’t beat the price—free…
I dunno, I’m still cautious about switching from Plesk. It’s been rock solid for me. But yeah, the price… DirectAdmin’s been on my radar, but I haven’t taken the plunge yet.
I went with Webmin—free, open-source, and surprisingly good for smaller sites. It’s not as flashy, but it gets the job done.
Been with Vultr forever, but never liked Plesk’s pricing. I’m using ISPConfig now—free and works well with Vultr. Bit of a learning curve.
Switching panels always freaks me out, haha. But if you’re comfortable with a bit of setup, CentOS Web Panel might be a good fit. Cheap (as in free), and it’s pretty versatile for what you need.
