Transaction flagged due to 'High Risk of Fraud'?

For some reason, cPanel flagged my PayPal transaction as ‘high risk of fraud’ because my cPanel email doesn’t match my PayPal email (which is true, they’re different). I decided to pay with my business card instead, but now they’re still saying it’s suspicious due to ‘mismatching information.’

Now, they want me to send in my government ID and photos of my business debit card. Even then, it could take 5-10 business days to unlock cPanel. I don’t feel comfortable with this, and they’ve disabled cPanel on my site, which is causing all kinds of issues.

Has anyone else experienced this? This feels ridiculous to me.

PayPal lets you add multiple emails. Maybe you could add the email you use for cPanel to your PayPal account?

I didn’t know that! I’ll check into it. Thanks for the tip!

That’s a pretty standard request nowadays. You can either comply or choose not to do business with them. It’s up to you, but they probably won’t budge.

Are you talking about matching PayPal emails? I’ve used PayPal daily for years with different emails, and this is the first time I’ve run into this problem.

@Kaitlyn
It’s not the email that’s the issue. Like I said, hosting services often require this level of verification.
