I want to launch a website but I am not sure which hosting service is best for me. I have been working on a WordPress site for about a month, and I feel like I am almost ready. The problem is, I keep reading different opinions about hosting companies, and now I am more confused than before. Some people say SiteGround, DreamHost, Cloudways, Hostinger, and Bluehost are good, but others say to avoid them. Since I am new to this, I need something simple and reliable. Any advice?
SiteGround is a solid choice, but watch out for the price increase after the first term.

That’s the case with most hosting companies. The first-year price is usually a discount.
@Gianna
Not all of them do that, but yeah, most.
From your list, SiteGround is probably the best option. Cloudways isn’t very beginner-friendly, and Bluehost has mixed reviews. No matter which host you pick, some people will have bad experiences. If you want something easy to use with good support, SiteGround is a solid choice.

Thanks for the advice. I think I’ll go with SiteGround for now and see how it works for me. I was definitely overthinking it.

That sounds like a good plan. Hope it works out for you.

SiteGround isn’t great either. Just as bad as some of the other big names.

Depends on what you need. Some people prefer managed hosting, others like full control. If you’re looking for something very easy, managed WordPress hosting might be better.
You might want to check out smaller hosting companies. They often have better customer service. NameCrane, Froge Host, and SimpleSonic are good options.
SiteGround is a good option.
For a beginner, SiteGround is a solid choice. They cover security, performance, and backups, and their dashboard is pretty easy to use.
GreenGeeks is a good choice if you want something eco-friendly and reliable.

How many hosting companies have you actually used?

Probably around 10. Been hosting sites since 2001, and I’ve dealt with a lot of different companies.
GreenGeeks is a solid choice too.
You could try using a local setup first, like Docker or DevKinsta, to experiment. If you’re looking for budget hosting, SiteGround is decent, and Kinsta is a great option when you’re ready for something more advanced.
If you’re on a budget, Hostinger is a good option. If security is a priority, Bluehost might be better, but it has a more complex interface.
I personally like Hostinger. I’ve moved most of my sites there.
Ionos has hosting for about 1.2€ per month. If you know some basic Linux, it’s pretty easy to set up.
