Hello forum members,
I’m seeking advice on optimizing the performance of my WordPress blog and would appreciate your insights. Currently, my blog is hosted on GoDaddy with a server located in Singapore. Here’s a bit of context about my situation:
- Visitor Demographics:
- 40% from the US
- 25-30% from India
- The rest are from various Asian and European countries
- Current Performance:
- With Cloudflare caching enabled, the site performs well.
- Without caching, it loads in less than 1 second in India but takes 2-6 seconds in the US and Europe.
- Concerns:
- I’ve heard that GoDaddy isn’t ideal for WordPress due to the lack of LiteSpeed caching.
- I’m considering switching to a different web host and am debating which server location would be optimal.
Given the performance issues and the geographical distribution of my visitors, should I:
- Choose a server based in the US? This might improve performance for my largest visitor base, but I’m concerned it might worsen performance for users in India.
- Opt for a server in Europe or Singapore? Since these locations are somewhat central, they might offer a balanced performance across regions, but I’m not sure how effective they’ll be compared to a US server.
I understand that Cloudflare caching helps, but I’m looking for a solution that ensures good performance even without caching. Any recommendations or personal experiences you could share will be greatly appreciated
