White page showing after moving my site… anyone know how to fix?

Hi, I just rented a VPS, installed CyberPanel, and transferred three websites from a shared cPanel hosting account. Two WordPress sites transferred fine, but I have a PHP website that’s only showing a white page when I try to open it. Any idea what’s causing this? I tried changing the PHP version and enabled error reporting, but nothing shows.

Edit: I moved some files, and now it’s showing an HTTP ERROR 500

I could explain more, but here’s a guide that should get you started quickly: How to Resolve PHP Error 500: Comprehensive Guide 2024

Once you get a more specific error (HTTP 500 errors can mean different things), feel free to post it here. Someone here will likely be able to help if you’re not sure how to proceed.

Thanks, I’ll take a look.

HTTP ERROR 500 usually means there’s a server misconfiguration or a code issue. I’d suggest checking your CyberPanel error logs and making sure that all the dependencies and configurations were transferred properly.

I checked the error logs, and they point to this directory:

Components/vendor/laravel/framework/src/illuminate

There are a lot of different files in that folder, and I have no idea what they mean. I’ll see what I can find on Google. The error mentions a Stack Trace, whatever that is.

Honestly, you might want to consider using CloudPanel, HestiaCP, or FastPanel instead. DirectAdmin is also good but costs around $5/month. I’ve used CyberPanel before, and I really wanted it to work, but I kept running into issues with emails or websites breaking, which led me to reinstall the whole OS on the VPS. CyberPanel is still being developed, and while they fix bugs and improve things, I wouldn’t recommend it until it’s more stable and user-friendly.

I tried CloudPanel, but there’s no option to automatically transfer sites from cPanel. HestiaCP seems to have a way to do it, though, so I might give it a try. My only concern is spending all the time setting it up and still having the same issue when transferring the sites to HestiaCP.

I get it, but in the long run, it’s better to put in the effort now for a more reliable solution that will save you headaches later. Best of luck, and feel free to message me if you need any more help!
