Hosting Wordpress on Digitalocean, is it a good idea?

Hey, I have used Bluehost for WordPress hosting before but found its performance disappointing. Now I am trying out DigitalOcean with a $100 credit I received. It seems much faster for the same cost, though it requires SSH and setup. Are there any downsides to using DigitalOcean for WordPress? I am aiming for a setup that requires minimal maintenance once the project is complete.

Yes, hosting WordPress on DigitalOcean is a good idea. It offers scalable, cost-effective cloud hosting with excellent performance, security features, and control. However, it requires some technical knowledge for setup and management compared to managed hosting providers.

It appears from what you’ve written that you’re searching for something that integrates with Digital Ocean. There are numerous resources available to assist you with managing WordPress on that platform. Things like RunCloud, ServerPilot, Laravel Forge (which supports WordPress in addition to Laravel, despite its concentration on Laravel), and a number of other things that I can’t immediately recall. Some of the hassles of managing your own Digital Ocean instance are eliminated by these services, which operate on your instance and manage deployments, updates, and other tasks.
