How can I determine where my website was hosted and regain access to it? My website was designed and launched by someone who is no longer available, and I need to take control of it. I’m unsure where it’s hosted or how to log in. Is there a way to find this information?
It appears your website is hosted by Google, so you’ll need to contact them to regain access. This reinforces my usual advice: ensure everything, including your domain and hosting, is registered in your company’s name for full control.
Additionally, since it’s a simple static HTML site, if necessary, you can scrape its contents and host it elsewhere.
I would simply download the website, then transfer it to a different server. If you don’t have access to the old domain, point the current one at the new server or just use a new one. This site appears to be much simpler than a “builder” or WordPress website.
Are you able to access the domain? When it expires, is it possible to renew? In order to route traffic to the new IP address if you rebuild the website, you will need to access the DNS records.
