How to Transfer a Domain to Wix

When you transfer your domain to Wix, Wix becomes your domain host, managing all your domain settings and billing.

Before You Start:

  1. Get an authorization code (EPP code) from your current domain registrar. This is sent to your domain’s registered email.
  2. Unlock your domain from your current registrar. If it’s locked due to ICANN’s 60-day policy, you may need to wait.

Steps to Transfer Your Domain to Wix:

  1. Log in to Wix and go to Domains.
  2. Click Add an Existing Domain and select Transfer your domain to Wix.
  3. Follow the prompts and click Start Transfer.
  4. Enter your domain name (e.g., mydomain.com).
  5. Choose your current domain registrar from the dropdown.
  6. Log in to your account with your current domain host.
  7. Unlock your domain from the current host and confirm by selecting the I unlocked it checkbox.
  8. Get the authorization code from your current domain host and paste it into Wix.
  9. Click Continue.
  10. Choose an extension period of at least one year and click Continue.
  11. Review your contact info, then click Continue.
  12. Select your registration type:
  • Private: Your contact details are hidden.
  • Public: Your details are visible.
  1. Choose a payment method and click Submit Purchase.

After You Submit:

You’ll receive a confirmation email. The transfer may take up to 7 days to complete.
