We have several domains purchased and set up for domain forwarding in GoDaddy. They all forward correctly with the bare domain or with “http://” in front. However, they do not forward when “https://” is used.
I’ve had enough of dealing with GoDaddy support. What do I need to do to enable https forwarding for these domains?

Here is how you enable HTTPS forwarding for your domains on GoDaddy @GuyBolding :
- Check your domain’s forwarding settings.
- Ensure you’re using HTTPS-compatible forwarding.
- Set up DNS records to support HTTPS if necessary.
- Verify the destination server has a valid SSL certificate.
- Clear the browser cache and test the HTTPS forwarding.
- Contact GoDaddy support if issues persist, specifying your HTTPS forwarding needs.
You should be able to enable HTTPS forwarding for your domains on GoDaddy by following these steps. By doing this, you can make sure that users who access your domains through “https://” are properly forwarded to the desired website.

To forward https, a valid SSL/TLS certificate is required, which is not included in regular GoDaddy forwarding.
What I generally propose is switching your DNS hosting (nameservers) from GoDaddy to Cloudflare’s free tier, which will automatically generate an SSL certificate for you and allow you to set up forwarding responsibilities for both http and https.
