VPS vs Shared Hosting

Hello

I am currently learning web development, and I would like to launch a website at this point. My ideal scenario would be to build my portfolio website, have a testing section, and eventually be able to provide clients live demos (albeit these are probably ways off).

Will this work with a shared hosting plan? What are the drawbacks to using a Virtual Private Server (VPS) from a company like DigitalOcean? My websites have only ever been hosted on shared hosting, thus I have no familiarity with Linux or server administration. Should I get knowledgeable about this as a potential web developer?

I am grateful.

Hello guys! Ok With shared hosting plans, you basically have no control over the server because everything is pre-packaged for you, and there is very little opportunity for customization. In contrast while with VPS hosting offers you root access to the server operating system and allows you to manage how your plan’s resources are allocated.

Sup Wizard, Shared hosting and VPS hosting are two common web hosting options, but they differ in how much control and power you get over your server environment.
