Dark Space Labs has affordable hosting with good features.
Cloudways is great but it’s more of a management tool for unmanaged servers like AWS or DigitalOcean, so not the best for beginners.
Hostinger is probably the best for beginners.
I use Nixihost for my WordPress sites. Their shared hosting plans are affordable and optimized for WordPress. They also include free SSL and unlimited emails.
I started with DreamHost years ago, and it was pretty easy to use. If you’re planning to scale, Kinsta is a good option too.
If you know how to set up a server, a VPS from OVH is the cheapest option.

Why would you recommend that to a beginner?

We use Rocket and Kinsta, and SiteGround is also a solid option.
