Where do I find cPanel on DreamHost?

Quick question, does DreamHost offer cPanel? I’ve used it before with other hosts but can’t seem to find it here. Am I missing something?

Nope, DreamHost doesn’t use cPanel. They’ve got their own custom panel for managing everything like websites, databases, and billing.

Ah, okay, thanks for clearing that up. Does the DreamHost panel work the same as cPanel?

@Tatum
Pretty much. You can do most of the same stuff, just looks a bit different. The bonus is that their panel runs on separate servers, so it doesn’t slow down your website.

FYI, if you’ve got a backup from cPanel, you can still import it to DreamHost, but it’s a manual process.

Wait, how do you do that? I’ve got a backup file from my old host.

@Washington
You’ll need to upload your files via FTP and import your databases manually. DreamHost has a couple of guides that walk you through it step-by-step.

Does DreamHost support help with the import?

Not really. They won’t do it for you, but they can help if you run into any problems while you’re doing it. You can reach out to their support if you need help.

DreamHost’s panel takes some getting used to, but I actually prefer it now. Fewer distractions, and it’s just as powerful as cPanel.

Good to know! I’ll give it a shot and see how it goes.
